Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about renting a dumpster from Wagon Train.

Getting Started

How do I rent a dumpster?

You can book online through our website or call us at 740-808-0312. We'll ask about your project, recommend the right size, schedule delivery, and handle the rest!

How quickly can I get a dumpster delivered?

We typically offer same-day or next-day delivery depending on availability. Call us in the morning and we can often deliver that afternoon.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

Nope! As long as we have a clear spot to place it and any special instructions, we can drop it off while you're away. We'll call you when it's delivered.

Pricing & Fees

What's included in the rental price?

Your rental includes delivery, pickup, disposal fees, and the weight limit for your dumpster size. Free delivery within 18 miles of Logan.

Can the dumpster be unloaded and returned within the rental period?

Yes, we offer a dump and return service for a discounted price based on dumpster size. Pricing can be found on the Pricing page. If you need your dumpster emptied and returned, just give us a call.

Are there any hidden fees?

We always try to be upfront about everything. The only additional costs would be overage fees (if you exceed the weight limit), extended rental days, or mileage beyond 18 miles.

What is the biggest worry when loading a dumpster?

The biggest problem our customers run into is accidentally adding mixing in heavy materials. A classic example is when dirt gets mixed in with demolition debris causing overweight charges. This can happen when using a skid steer to scoop up the debris, accidentally scouping up dirt at the same time.

How much does it cost if I go over the weight limit?

Our included weights are based on the average weights for each dumpster size. Additional weight is $90 per ton. We'll weigh the dumpster at the landfill and notify you if there's any overage. When in doubt, size up, the larger the dumpster the more weight is include in the base price!

Is there a maximum weight i can load? What happens if i exceed this weight?

Yes there is. The maximum weight we can carry is based on legal limits imposed by the Federal department of transportation (DOT). The maximum weight we can carry in our containers is 10,000 lbs (5 tons). If our driver determines we will be above the legal load limit, we will need to offload sufficient material to ensure we are legally compliant before departing your site.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! Use code ONLINE5 for 5% off when you book online. We also offer discounts for repeat customers and contractors.

Rental Terms

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Our standard rental periods are from 3-7 days. If you need it longer, just let us know! Additional days are available for a small daily fee.

Can I extend my rental?

Absolutely. Just give us a call before your scheduled pickup and we can extend it for $15 per day.

What if I need it picked up early?

No problem! Call us when you're done and we'll come get it. Early pickups don't result in a refund, but we're happy to grab it whenever you're ready.

Dumpster Placement

Where should I place the dumpster?

Ideally on a flat, hard surface like a driveway or parking area. We need 60 feet of overhead clearance (for tree branches/power lines) and 10 feet of width for the truck.

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

We use protective boards under the dumpster to minimize risk. However, very heavy loads or soft asphalt in hot weather can still cause indentations. Consider gravel or concrete if available.

Do I need a permit?

If the dumpster is on your private property (driveway, yard), no permit is needed. If it's on the street or public property, you'll need a permit from your city.

What Can Go In

What can I put in the dumpster?

Household junk, furniture, construction debris, roofing shingles, wood, drywall, siding, flooring, appliances (no Freon), and yard waste are all good to go.

What can I NOT put in the dumpster?

We cannot accept hazardous materials, tires, batteries, paint, liquids, appliances with Freon, propane tanks, asbestos, or medical waste. Fines start at $250 for prohibited items.

Can I throw away appliances?

Yes, but refrigerators and AC units with Freon must have the Freon removed first. Washers, dryers, stoves, and dishwashers are fine as-is.

Can I put concrete or dirt in the dumpster?

Yes, but with limits. Heavy materials have volume restrictions: 15-yard = 3 yards max, 20-yard = 4 yards max, 30-yard = 5 yards max.

Choosing the Right Size

What size dumpster do I need?

For a garage cleanout or small remodel, a 15-yard is usually perfect. For larger home renovations or roofing, go with a 20-yard. For construction projects or whole home cleanouts, choose a 30-yard.

How high can I fill the dumpster?

Please keep your load level with the top rail. We need to tarp it for safe transport. Overfilled dumpsters may be refused or subject to fees.

What if I'm not sure which size I need?

Call us! We've done thousands of projects and can help you estimate. When in doubt, sizing up is usually the better call to avoid overage fees.

I'm demolishing an old single wide mobile home - What size dumpster(s) will I need?

Excluding the aluminum and steel frame - which should be sold for scrap and not put in the dumpster, a single wide mobile home can require from 60 to 90 yards of dumpster capacity, depending primarily on what is left inside. If alot of furniture and junk, then plan for closer to 90. If the home is mostly empty, then plan for closer to 60. This means you will likely need between 2-3 30 yard dumpsters, or 3-5 20 yard dumpsters. Also, if you are demolishing by hand, you will need more space. If you are demolishing with an excavator or skid steer, and can crush and condense the debris you will need less space.
